Mandated NMCRB Member Training

The Citizen Review Board Membership training consists of 2 parts: three online learning modules and six hours of in-person training.

New members must complete the e-learning modules before sitting on a board and must complete the in-person course within three months of appointment.

Additionally, all current CRB members are required to complete this training as a refresher course and orientation to the new systems being put in place.

This training is mandatory for both new and current CRB members.

ELearning: 

The three e-learning courses must be completed before participation in the in-person course. E-learning provides the learner with the ability to self- schedule, ability to self-pace, convenience of taking the training at any location you choose with an internet connection. The topics covered in the e-learning include:

• History and Creation of the CRBs (45 Minutes)
• CRB Process and Goals (45 Minutes)
• Challenges Families Face (1 Hour)

In Person Training:

The one day (6 hour) in-person course will build upon topics introduced in the e-learning modules and will offer opportunities to practice skills. The in-person course will be offered regionally in order to better accommodate members. Topics to be covered in the in-person portion include:

• Understanding CYFD
• Professionalism and the CRB Process
• Managing Conflict
• Advocacy and community outreach tools for CRBs
